God, Please bless the victims, their families and those still recovering from this terrible incident. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The memorial service is going on (as I type) for the five victims in this incident on Saturday, August 13, 2011. That morning started with a bright sunny day. I was actually at a cookout when it happened. Last Sunday, I performed on a different stage at the Indiana State Fair and Tuesday I went back for a fun evening with my friends. I’m sure there were many with similar expectations of a fun time.
Watch with Caution
There is also an age-restricted video on youtube that is more clear.
That next day, my pastor, Darryl K. Webster continued his series from Job, Can God be Trusted with your Troubles? He stated God will speak to us through other people, through the Bible, and through circumstances. Then, he stated God speaks to turn us away from our deeds, to show us He is soverign, and to humble and test us.
The stage collapsing was God speaking to us through a circumstance. God has allowed this to happen. Instead of asking WHY, we should ask WHAT did He want us to learn? God’s works are great! He caused the winds to collapse the stage and causes everything to happen in our lives.
“He loads the thick cloud with moisture;
the clouds scatter his lightning.
“They turn around and around by his guidance,
to accomplish all that he commands them
on the face of the habitable world.
“Whether for correction or for his land
or for love, he causes it to happen.”
-Bible, Job 37:11-13
Please keep everyone in your prayers.
